We’re excited to host our good friend Matthew Porter for a reading and signing of his new children’s book The Thunderbolt Express.

Monkey World: The Thunderbolt Express is a magical adventure that involves a flying train and a cast of funky monkeys dressed in suits, suspenders, and bowler hats.

When the station master calls “All aboard!” readers are invited to go on a magical train ride with Jango Jenkins and his Dixieland Band, Oscar the magician, and Miss Trixie and her pug dog, Napoleon. However, this pleasant journey soon goes haywire. Napolean the pug goes missing! The train runs out of tracks! The brake lever breaks! How will the monkeys find a way out of this pickle?

Matthew is known for his clever work and bold, bright images. Using vibrant colors and distressed pinewood, he creates texture and movement in his artwork. Renowned for his board books, this is Porter’s first storybook for older children. Climb aboard the Thunderbolt Express and enjoy this wild ride!
